It is most seen in older horses, but it can effect those with a strenuous training or competition programme, as well as those in light work.

Glucosamine is one of the key compounds which supports joint health. It has 3 main roles, which are to stimulate the production of proteoglycans which help to produce the strong, elastic shock absorbing properties of the collagen in the cartilage; to help to reduce the degradation of the cartilage in the joint; and to provide antioxidants and help to promote the inflammatory response.
